The NorCal Lawmen won the 2006 GCFL Championship 'Golden Bowl' on June 24th in an exciting defensive battle that went down to the wire. In the end it was the Lawmen defense that prevailed. The Lawmen defense kept the Fury offense out of the end zone all night while blocking both Fury field goal attempts and scoring a safety. The Safety was the only score in the game for 3 quarters until the Lawmen scored on a 41 yard pass play early in the 4th quarter and then missed a 2-point conversion try, leaving the score at 8-0. Then with 4:55 on the clock and the Lawmen looking to score from the 1, the Fury defense recovered a Lawmen fumble and returned it 99 yards for a TD and it was suddenly 8-6. At this point the Lawmen defense stepped up again and stopped the Fury 2-point try that would have tied the game, leaving the final score Lawmen 8 - Fury 6.
